Student Relieve Fund

About the Fund The Student Relief Fund is designed to support eligible students experiencing financial difficulties by helping them manage essential education-related expenses. The programme aims to reduce financial barriers, ease the pressure of educational costs, and help students remain focused on achieving their academic goals. Rather than providing the entire award at once, the fund distributes approved financial assistance in six equal monthly installments over six consecutive months. This approach gives beneficiaries a more predictable source of support throughout the funding period. Applicants should review the official programme terms for the payment schedule, disbursement dates, and any applicable conditions.

How AfroGrants Works

Discover, check what is required, and apply through the route the funder uses.

  1. Discover

Search the directory or start from a category and read the opportunity in full.

  2. Check eligibility

Review who may apply, the documents required, the deadlines and any application fee.

  3. Prepare & apply

Some opportunities are completed in AfroGrants’ guided application form. Others take you to the funder’s own website — each listing says which.

  4. Track progress

Applications submitted through AfroGrants appear in your dashboard, where you can follow their status. Where the funder handles applications themselves, follow up with the funder.

Applications completed hereGuided form, saved drafts, document upload and status tracking in your dashboard.

Trust & Transparency

What every listing tells you before you start, so you can judge an opportunity on its own terms.

  • Funder identity

Each listing names the organisation offering the funding.

  • Official application links

Where a funder applies on their own site, the listing points to their own page.

  • Eligibility before you start

Who may apply and what is required is stated up front.

  • Funding conditions

Read the funder’s terms for what the funding covers and how decisions are made.

  • Application fees

Some grants charge an application fee, shown before any payment. Paying a fee does not guarantee an award.

  • Where you apply

Every listing says whether the application is completed here or with the funder.

AfroGrants publishes opportunities; it does not award funding. Listings carry the information the funder provides, and AfroGrants does not assess applications or decide who receives money. Always read the funder’s own requirements and terms before applying, and never pay anyone — including AfroGrants — for a promise of an award.

Frequently Asked Questions

Straight answers about what AfroGrants is, what it costs and how applications are handled.

What is AfroGrants?

AfroGrants is a funding discovery and application platform. It brings grants, bursaries, fellowships and other funding opportunities into one directory, and lets you apply for the opportunities that are completed on AfroGrants itself.

Is AfroGrants a loan platform?

No. AfroGrants is not a bank, lender or investment platform, and it does not lend money or manage repayments. Grants listed here are funding offered by the organisations named on each listing.

Does AfroGrants decide who receives funding?

No. Decisions are made by the organisation offering the funding, against its own criteria. AfroGrants publishes the information a funder provides and passes on your application where the application is completed here.

Who can use AfroGrants?

Anyone can browse the directory. The opportunities listed serve students, NYSC members and graduates, researchers, entrepreneurs, farmers and community organisations — each listing states the eligibility its funder has set, so check that first.

Do I need an account?

You can browse grants without one. An account is needed to start and submit an application on AfroGrants, save a draft, upload documents and follow an application’s status.

Do applications cost anything?

Some grants require a one-time application fee and others are free to apply for. Where a fee applies it is shown on the listing before you begin, and paying it does not guarantee funding.

Are all applications submitted through AfroGrants?

No. Some funders run their own application process — those listings link to the funder’s official page instead, and AfroGrants cannot track what happens there. Listings say which case applies to them.

How do I know if I am eligible?

Read the eligibility and requirements section of the listing and check it against your own situation, including any age, location, study or business requirements. If anything is unclear, use the funder’s contact details before you apply.
