Privacy & Data Protection Policy

Version 2026-09-22 · Afrogrants

What we collect

To review applications and pay grants, Afrogrants collects the details you provide in your profile and applications: your name, contact details, photo, date of birth, National Identity Number (NIN), education and business facts, your answers to grant application forms, any documents you upload, and your bank account details for grant disbursement.

Why we collect it

We use this information only to operate the grant process: checking eligibility, reviewing and scoring applications, verifying your identity, preventing duplicate or fraudulent applications, and paying grants into your nominated bank account.

Who can see your information

Your identity details, documents, and bank details are visible only to you and to authorised Afrogrants administrators who process applications and disbursements. Your photo and documents are stored in private storage and are never publicly accessible. We do not sell your data or share it with advertisers.

How we protect it

Access to your data is enforced by row-level security: every record is owned by your account, and even our storage is configured so that files can only be read through short-lived, access-checked links. Payments are processed by our licensed payment partner; we do not store your card details.

How long we keep it

We keep your profile and applications while your account is active. When you delete your account, we remove or anonymise your personal data, except where we are required to keep financial records for grants already paid.

Your choices and rights

You can view and correct your information at any time in your profile. You can withdraw consent for future applications by deleting your account. To request a copy or deletion of your data, contact us through the support channel in the application — we respond within 30 days.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially, we will ask you to review and accept the new version before you submit further applications. The version you accepted is recorded with your account.
